Opened only this past September, 21 Taps is already poised to become one of the most popular local venues to eat, drink, and have some fun. And for good reason. Bountiful space accommodates ample seating, both indoors and out. In fact, during the warmer months, they have a large, private patio that seats 60. Inside, they have a large seating area of tables, high tops, and bar-style seating that occupies roughly half of their space. This is the area where you can sit down with company or enjoy a nice dinner for two. The other side of their cavernous space is a combination of sports bar and stage for live music performances and karaoke. No matter what mood you’re in, 21 Taps offer something for it. When they acquired the space, they custom-built a wood-fired grill and oven. Not surprisingly, a good deal of their large menu focuses on entrees grilled or baked in the oven, like pizza and wood-grilled meats. And of course their continuous selection of 21 beers at a time leads to its eponymous name. We asked the owners, Jennifer and Dave, a few questions:

1. What was your inspiration for opening 21 Taps?  “We wanted to focus on local beer and wood-fired pizza. We feature as many varieties of beer as we can from local and regional breweries, and elsewhere too. So far, we have featured over 160. We also wanted to focus on wood-fired oven pizza because not many places bake their pizza that way and we love how it tastes.”

2. What is something that people don’t know about 21 Taps?  “We try to feature something fun and special every day of the week. Monday is trivia night. Tuesday hosts beer specials. Wednesday night is pizza nights. Thursday night is burger night. Friday is karaoke night. Saturdays feature live entertainment. Sunday is half priced wings.”

3. What is your favorite pizza?   “It’s hard to choose, but I would say the Reuben pizza.”
